Meet David Leonard, Goodwill San Antonio’s longest tenured employee at 38 years
Meet David Leonard, a remarkable individual, and Goodwill San Antonio’s longest-tenured employee at 38 years.
David is a Goodwill Technology Reboot (GTR) Specialist at our Donated Goods Retail Operations Center. David’s job is to take technology that is donated to our stores and repurpose and reboot it before sending them off to find their new home.
David has played a vital role in our organization and has made many connections along the way. He is described by his colleagues as a soft-spoken but hardworking individual who is always there to lend a hand.
“I have been very inspired by him. His work attitude and work ethic are something that can't be beaten. He comes in every day and knows what needs to be taken care of,” said Fabian Hernandez, GTR Production and Sales Support Supervisor.
David was recently honored for all his years in the organization at the San Antonio Missions Baseball game where he threw out the first pitch to start the night. Goodwill team members attended the game to cheer him on.
Even after all these years of service, David maintains a pace at work like no other.
“David is a rare breed. He always has a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, no matter the task he is requested to complete,” said Robert Washington, IT Field Specialist, and former coworker of David.
Since 1986, David has enjoyed his time at Goodwill and continues to positively impact our organization. “I enjoy everything here at Goodwill. I like my job; I like my coworkers,” he said.
Thank you, David, for your dedication here at Goodwill!
