Goodwill Reentry Services understands the unique challenges individuals face when reentering into society after being incarcerated, from reconnecting with family to finding employment.

We provide training and the supports needed to attain employment, make a living wage and avoid re-incarceration.

Our staff offers one-on-one career coaching with a focus on:

  • Identifying your career interests
  • Developing your resume
  • Practicing interview skills
  • Completing online job applications
  • Connecting to employers or training programs

Additionally, individuals have the opportunity to enroll in training programs, which include:

  • OSHA 10- Hour
  • Forklift
  • NCCER Core Curriculum (Construction)
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Training Programs

Construction / OSHA 10-Hour / Forklift Certification

Construction - Juan Hinojosa

Duration: 3 weeks

This program follows the National Center for Construction, Education and Research (NCCER) Core Curriculum. Individuals will learn:

  • NCCER Core Curriculum Introductory Craft Skills
  • OSHA 10-Hour for Construction
  • Forklift Certification

Upon completion students are eligible to continue training in a Department of Labor registered apprenticeship in electrical, carpentry, plumbing or sheet metal. The NCCER certification is valid nationwide.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Training

CDL student driver inspection

Duration: 7 weeks

Individuals who qualify for this program will receive instruction needed to obtain a Texas Commercial Driver’s License.

The Digital Literacy Program teaches basic computer skills employers expect and are essential in daily life. It is tailored for those without extensive computer knowledge.
