Goodwill announces grand opening of new Laredo outlet store

A store that helps many people in need is about to get a second location early next week.
Goodwill will be celebrating Monday the official grand opening of a new outlet store, located at 11914 Conly Road, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony to honor the occasion at 8:30 a.m.
The organization is adding to its retail operations in Laredo with a new store that offers a unique shopping experience to purchase textiles for $0.50 per piece or $0.50 per pound for bulk purchases.
The new outlet store will just be located four miles north of Goodwill’s traditional retail store at San Dario and IH-35. The new location is a 24,000 square ft. facility that is air conditioned and features rows of large blue bins with assorted textile items.
At the grand opening ceremony, various representatives from the outlet store will be present which includes Carlos J. Contreras III, President & CEO at Goodwill San Antonio; Janice Bunch, President & Chief Operating Officer of Goodwill San Antonio; and officials from the Laredo Chamber of Commerce.
“Our newest outlet will offer great value pieces to the Laredo community with its novel store concept,” Contreras said. “We are excited to add to our Laredo footprint in support of our mission to create jobs and opportunity for social and economic mobility.”
According to the company, merchandise is alternated and replenished multiple times throughout the day to allow shoppers plenty of opportunity to find the right combination of textiles. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
